As you know I have been researching this company to see where they stand with animal testing. I checked with PETA and the ASPCA and they are not listed there as being animal free testing. My guess is that the actual products are not animals tested but that some of the ingredients are animal tested. Remember what I always say if it's been tested on an animal it cannot possibly be good for you.

This just in from Benefits in a reply to my question. I need to do some further investigations but they say they do not test on animals. Hi Linda,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us. Benefit does not test our cosmetic products on animals. When selecting the ingredients to be used in our cosmetic products, Benefit requires raw material suppliers to provide safety information based on scientifically accepted alternative testing methods that meet international safety standards and regulations. Benefit products must meet both consumers' needs and consumer safety, while respecting animal life. Benefit continues to strongly support & favor alternative testing and is committed to following all animal testing laws and regulations in order to ensure our products' safety for the end consumer.

Thank you for shopping with Benefit Cosmetics.P.J.

GLOWING up…not growing up!

It't no secret I am an animal lover, so much so that sometimes even  my husband wonders what he's married. Animals are a gift and how we treat them says a lot about us. Yesterday there was a story about the cosmetic line Benefit on the morning news. Of course I checked to see if they tested their products on animals. They apparently don't like to answer that question. I sent them an email asking them if they do indeed test on animals I will let you know when I get a reply. Remember if a product needs to be tested on an animal it means there is something in it that is not good for you. They just want to make sure it's not that toxic or harmful. Shame on any company that does animal testing. More to come.

Products are expensive, cleaning products, makeup products, skin care products. They all cost money and some of them a lot of money. So I have over the last few years made things really simple when buying products and in using them. Over the next few days I am going to share what I do to save money for cleaning and for my skin and makeup.
Let's start with cleaning products. The other day we were behind a young women at Target who had a cart full of cleaning products. Not only were some  what I would call toxic but they were expensive. I wanted to tell her that all she really needs is white vinegar and baking soda, and some Mrs. Meyers or Method all purpose cleaners. My whole house is cleaned with these products,
including scrubbing out the shower with a combination of baking soda and vinegar (think for old science class experiments). Yes there is like a mini volcano when you combine them but you end up with a really clean shower, tub or sink. So ditch all those strong toxic chemicals you use to clean and purchase the cheapest stuff you can buy. Baking Soda and Vinegar. More ideas tomorrow.

Look at these shoes, do they rock or what? Come on someone buys these and then show up dancing in them. Below that is a new way to think about pocket squares for your jacket. Love the bandanna look if they are too bulky you can always cut them down. Hey, they are not that expensive.

Thank you GQ.com for these photos. I love these shoes.

I love the center one especially. Just incorporate one of these items in your wardrobe and it's a sure winner.

I am recommending you try these products, they look amazing. I just ordered mine and can't wait to try them. The creator is a model you will recognize, she is an amazing older model who loves her age and loves helping women realize their potential. There is no "junk" or bad chemicals in the ingredients and it is not animal tested (even more important). If they have to test something on animals do not buy it.

As you all know by now I love animals, especially dogs. If I could I would find a way to rescue and save all animals. So today I am posting this photo and caption because for me it says it all

This is a quote of Oscar Wilde's "When the critics disagree the artist is in accord with himself." For those of us that are creative we need to remember that we go first and then other follow.
