Hilburn Trunk Show August 31 from 11-3pm Minneapolis/Bloomington Hilton 3900 American Boulevard Bloomington, Mn 55437 Let me know if you would like to attend. Thanks - As we get older less is definitely more in makeup. Remember Tammy Faye Baker? We certainly don't want that to happen. So here are is some great advise from a makeup artist I trust. Make sure your eyebrows are shaped and have some color to them besides grey. Next give a slight curl to your lashes with a curler. Apply mascara by starting at the base of the lashes, and wiggling the wand as you move up the lash. (never pump a wand up and down in the tube it allows more air in drying out your mascara). Apply a little extra to the center of the eye area to open up your shape. Carefully apply a little color to the cheeks to give you a rosy glow, be careful here in this case less really is more. Lipstick is next apply a lighter color (dark really ages) in warm pinks for fall and winter and lighter pinks for summer and spring. Now go out and wow the world. Because the 40+ market is my demographic I love blogging about what you can do to stay current, which in turns gives you a more youthful look. I would like to start with the men and what they can do to stay at the top of their game. First of all maintain any facial hair you may have. Mustaches, goatees, the hair on your head, should be colored as often as needed, especially on the face. You will want to trim any facial hair that is growing where it should not. Such as your ears, your nose and down the back of your neck. So men go forth and groom to stay young looking. Please come to the Second Debut store at 4300 W 361/2 Street in Saint Louis Park this Saturday August 13th from 6-9pm, for a fashion style off, it's a great event to help support Goodwill. I am so very excited about being a style adviser for J. Hilburn Men's clothing line. It's beautiful fabric, exceptional construction and really cool, hip clothing for men. Check it out at www.jhilburn.com. I will soon be adding video content to this website, that will feature myself and a friend showing purchased items for men and women over 40, who are looking for age appropriate dressing, but still stylist, fashionable attire. Stay tuned. I would say one of the really fun things for fall is going to be the use to color. Color that we have not seen before for fall. Big, vibrant fun colors and color combinations that will make you want to buy a few pieces for your wardrobe, just for fun. I will be adding videos as the items come in the store so you can see what I am talking about so stay tuned........ |
