I have only two days left of my "30 Days of Denim", but I decided to interrupt my calendar to bring you information on the care and feeding of your denim.
Some of us have jeans that we have had forever, they are probably our most "go-to" items in our closet. The older jeans get the more care they need, but so do your new ones need loving care. Come on, jeans put in a hard day's work , if you prone to wearing them a lot. So like you they need some tender loving care too.
   Here is some great information.
   1. Jeans can be worn 5-10 times before being laundered unless they are used from some pretty grimy work.
   2. When you do wash your jeans turn them inside out, make sure you have zipped them up and buttoned them at the waist.
   3. I usually use very little detergent (I do have a front load washer, which typically uses less ). If they are brand new I will put about a half a cup of white vinegar in the wash as it helps to set the indigo dye. Woolite also haS a dark wash product that works well. USE ONLY COLD WATER.
  4. After they have washed pull them out, straighten the legs and hang from the waist. I let my jeans air dry until there is just a little dampness left, then they go in the dryer. It helps so they are less stiff. Do it for just a very few minutes.   Drying is  hard on jeans.
  5. Jeans should be hung straight, I hang mind from the hen as it helps to keep them wrinkle free and may be just maybe helps to lengthen them.
  6. This is the most wonderful tip of all, if you don't want to launder your jeans yet wrap them up and put them in the freezer overnight to kill any bacteria, you think they may have.

Ah, Day Two this is so exciting, I love putting this together. This is another summer to fall look, I love RED as you can probably tell, I wear it all year long. I love color actually. So why have I put together what I have put together? Well, I have paired a simple red and white gingham checked shirt (a classic) with my Eco Levi's Jeans and a skinny red belt, I love the contrast of the yellow necklace with the red. It makes for a happy outfit, and I always say be bold with color, because it's fun to be bold with color.
The shoe and footwear choices are a little different in that I have chosen to not pair red shoes with this outfit. Why? Because it breaks up the look, red on top and the bottom are not a good idea. The red purse works with either shoe choice depending on the weather, with the boots being for a colder day. The brown bag and men's inspired shoes would also be a great look with this outfit. The men inspired shoes, are a definite "fashion item" for this upcoming fall.
As I always say to my client's PLAY WITH YOUR CLOTHES, HAVE FUN WITH THEM THIS IS NOT SERIOUS STUFF.

I am so excited about my 30days of denim blogging that I have decided I am going to start it this coming Monday. The clothes are from my closet but I have noticed that stores already have their fall lines in so to help you with ideas for shopping I am doing this sooner.
These blogs will have lots and lots of ideas and information as to how and why the outfits and accessories work together. Stay tune for this coming Monday, August 13th to begin the journey.

I borrowed this book from my daughter. Last night I crawled into bed, watch Gabby take home the gold for gymnastics at the Olympics and read this book. I am a woman so I can do two things at once.  I thought I knew a lot about green living and actually I do, but this one has added even more fuel to the fire. I love the beauty and health tips. Eating to support healthy skin and your personal health, using organic products for caring for your skin, hair, and to use as make-up. BEing kind to the planet, saving money and looking drop dead gorgeous or handsome. What is not to love.? I can't wait to curl up again tonight to read more.  These are so cute and stylist, and think of what a great feeling it is to have wonderful shoes and know that you gave a pair to a child in need by buying them. Better yet these are VEGAN for women. Tom's Shoes please find a link on my Home page.

We are never ever happy with what we are given for body types. While we should be happy that we have good health and wonderful personalities we fret over our bodies. So let's do some looking at how clothes can change that.
This outfit is great for an older woman who has a short torso, the sweater brings the eye downward, making the model look longer waist ed. The hem length is perfect, right at the knee.  If you go too short you will look like your are trying to look like your daughter or trying to look too young. Any longer and you would look really dragged down and frumpy. The tone on tone color or the outfit, makes her look taller and skinnier. What a fun outfit for fall and winter. Remember though this may not be a color for you, so stay within your personal color palette.

We use accessories to make us individuals, especially for men, as your clothing does not change much in shape and style. I am always preaching the classics as we get older but we still want to look like we have a spring in our step when it comes to style. Use scarves, hats, cufflinks, ties, and shoes to change up a look. GO FOR IT GUYS, HAVE SOME FUN WHEN YOU GET READY TO GO OUT AND ABOUT.

We recently went on a trip to Wyoming and Colorado. There are two things that happen to be when traveling. I don't sleep well and my beauty routine is not what it should be, plus the environment is different from at home. It's funny the environment I can deal with and the beauty routine as well. It's the lack of sleep that shows up on my face and really makes my skin look shallow and lacking in color. They say you never catch up on sleep but after last night's big snore I am not so sure that's true. I feel a thousand times better and happier today just because I got a lot of sleep.
