I have a front load washer and dryer, which I love. I know they use less then top loaders for water amount and therefore detergent, but I have reduced it even more. I use 2/3 or 3/4 less detergent then I use to. I actually like the way my clothes smell (not that soapy detergent smell) much better, but I literally will use a dryer sheet, for maybe 4-5 loads and my clothes come out soft and static free. Again without that perfumy smell of some dryer sheets.
