There is a definite chill in the air today and according to the forecast there are more cooler temperatures ahead. It's fine by me, I do get a big depressed about winter coming, but fall is so gorgeous. I sure hope we get the fall colors this year though, it's been so dry it's unbelievable. Well, if nothing else I can get the colors in my wardrobe, and below is a fine example. This cotton and silk tuxedo shirt in a golden color is perfect for the marled camel colored wool cardigan. One of my fall favorites. I add this citron colored beaded necklace that has a golden and rhinestone bee for the closure. Paired with my once again straight legged 505 Levi's this look is a fall hero. Add a little attitude to the jeans by doing the more relaxed twisted roll at the hem.

The middle hem is the twisted roll, it's softer and definitely more casual.

Second scarf from the left top roll is perfect with this outfit.

Dress it up a bit and add some color.

More casual for sure.

I have to apologize week-ends are always so busy and I never thought I would not be able to post yesterday but alas it did not happen. So here is Day Six and Day Seven back to back.
This is my favorite sweater of all time, it's from J. Crews collection from two years ago. It's Merino Wool, even the lace is wool. I wore it this past January when I got married. I always save it for going out when jeans are ok, but I want to look a little more dressed up. The necklace is always a favorite I have two of these J. Crew Bubble necklaces the red and a blue grey. I love how big it is and the red makes me happy. The jeans are Levi's 505 from Kohl's.

Hobo red bag and these Farylrobin shoes are so comfortable even to dance in. I love the retro feel without looking like I bought from a museum.

Red Hobo bag with my Italian boots. Either of these purse/shoes combos work for me in terms of looking dressy. They are both very stylist and yet I can dance up a storm. I love Fridays.

Colder weather hit Minnesota during the night last night. It was cold walking Henry this morning. This is a great easy to throw on look for me. The sweater is a khaki green it hits just below the behind. I add the trim which I copied from a magazine picture or something (I do this a lot). I always get a lot of great comments about the sweater. The scarf is a very soft cotton knit from a French line of clothing, which J. Crew carries some of the pieces. The roll of the jeans should be small and soft, to stay in keeping the softness of the outfit.
I can wear either the black purse by Marc Jacobs with my Italian boots, or my brown purse with brown hiking boots. I could put ballet flats with this outfit as well, to make it more girly.

Banana Republic cotton sweater that I add trim too. (I copied the idea ok?) Levi's with a gold thin belt which will not be seen. A Saint James knit scarf again from J. Crew.

Brown Banana Republic purse, many years old but cared for. Italian boots, I love these guys, they go with everything.

This is a great outfit for all year really. Here in the land of ice and snow I would probably wear a cotton camisole underneath, for added warmth. The top is from J. Crew a few seasons ago, but it's still very relevant very French. I have a skinny red belt with the jeans but it won't show as the top is longer. I have added one of my favorite necklaces it's a J. Crew Bubble Necklace in red. The jeans are 505 from Kohl's they are in a dark wash, which I love (I think it makes me look skinnier). The roll at the bottom of these jeans would either be the fold over twice roll with the heels and then depending on where the hem hits for the ballet flats I would do the softer, less structured roll.  I would then add my red HOBO bag and either the red high heels or the black ballet flats. Tres Chic and appropriate for almost anywhere, shopping, work (if you can wear nice jeans), dining, theatre, out and about.

I borrowed this book from my daughter. Last night I crawled into bed, watch Gabby take home the gold for gymnastics at the Olympics and read this book. I am a woman so I can do two things at once.  I thought I knew a lot about green living and actually I do, but this one has added even more fuel to the fire. I love the beauty and health tips. Eating to support healthy skin and your personal health, using organic products for caring for your skin, hair, and to use as make-up. BEing kind to the planet, saving money and looking drop dead gorgeous or handsome. What is not to love.? I can't wait to curl up again tonight to read more.   We are the Boomer Generation, we like to make a difference, only this one is for us and our health.

We are never ever happy with what we are given for body types. While we should be happy that we have good health and wonderful personalities we fret over our bodies. So let's do some looking at how clothes can change that.
This outfit is great for an older woman who has a short torso, the sweater brings the eye downward, making the model look longer waist ed. The hem length is perfect, right at the knee.  If you go too short you will look like your are trying to look like your daughter or trying to look too young. Any longer and you would look really dragged down and frumpy. The tone on tone color or the outfit, makes her look taller and skinnier. What a fun outfit for fall and winter. Remember though this may not be a color for you, so stay within your personal color palette.

If you love Style as much as I do you will love these other blog sites. Now you are not going to go out and dress like this, more than likely but they are fun, whimsical and "hey" they might give you some ideas. http://www.thestylerookie.com/

We recently went on a trip to Wyoming and Colorado. There are two things that happen to be when traveling. I don't sleep well and my beauty routine is not what it should be, plus the environment is different from at home. It's funny the environment I can deal with and the beauty routine as well. It's the lack of sleep that shows up on my face and really makes my skin look shallow and lacking in color. They say you never catch up on sleep but after last night's big snore I am not so sure that's true. I feel a thousand times better and happier today just because I got a lot of sleep.

It's been proven over and over again that animal testing of products and medical procedures is like comparing apples to oranges and yet Urban Decay makeup has decided to start animal testing. Do not buy this product if you like your skin and body.

I keep telling my clients that as you grow older make not only life but your look clean and simple. Wear classics, changing the color with fashion but staying within the palette as to what looks good on you and goes with the rest of your closet. Keep " bling" or "out there looks to accessories, that way you have a closet that has exactly what looks good on you and you alone, but you can up the fashion factor with your accessories.
I love the book "Parisian Chic" by Ines de  la Fressange. She is so classic in her  look she just changes things  up with color and accessories. Here is what I am talking about, see what little effort she uses to make herself look current and yet you know who she is.
